Now that I've gotten the basic plot structure and themes out of the way, I'll go onto the characters within the story that will play central roles.
Name(s): Geo Age: 17 Gender: Male Race: Geo-jin Fighting Style: Geo-ryū Karate Biography: The titular character of the story and main protagonist. He has the very makings of a hero- honorable, kind-hearted, passionate, and mild-mannered. His fighting prowess is strong and his noble heart is even stronger, but he adheres to a strict moral code of "No Killing" which can be seen as a weakness. Despite this he refuses to let anything stop him from ending the savagery of the Tapemen and clear the name of his people. Name(s): Sappira Kaimana Age: 19 Gender: Female Race: Human Fighting Style: Sōjutsu Biography: The prodigious daughter to the wealthy Kaimana Clan who are renowned for their incredible mastery of the Sōjutsu fighting style for many generations, so she already has quite a bit of pedigree backing her up. Prior to Geo's emergence as a freedom fighter, she was the only hope that the Geo-jins had of lasting against the Tapemen onslaught and as a human, she was one of the few that believed in the Geo-jins' innocence so she'll protect from those creatures. Even though her intentions are undeniably good, she can come off as rather harsh and standoffish (especially to Ger). She is by far the most intelligent and mature among Geo and Ger... whom she must fight alongside with to combat the Tapemen (much to her dismay). Name(s): Ger Age: 17 Gender: Male Race: Geo-jin Fighting Style: Self-taught Martial Arts Biography: Ger has been Geo's best friend ever since they were little kids so best believe he has his back. He is the oldest of 8 siblings and being the only authority figure they have, he keeps a strong and confident (maybe a little overconfident) presence for the kids to look up to. This life also led to him being branded as a delinquent by society as he steals and breaks other laws in order to get by. Even though his power pales in comparison to the other two, he is still a valuable asset to the team in several ways. Name(s): Baien Age: 60 Gender: Male Race: Human Fighting Style: Geo-ryū Karate (co-creator) Biography: Baien is the sensei of Geo and has taken him under his wing after the young Geo-jin had lost his parents at the hands of Tapemen. He is wise, but strict and is one of the few humans who believe in the Geo-jins' innocence. Even though Geo possesses great strength and has far greater potential than him, he is reluctant to let Geo fight against the Tapemen due to his refusal to kill. I've had ideas for this story ever since I was a little kid (in mid 2003 more specifically) but it wasn't till much later on I knew what it was gonna be about. It's a post-apocalyptic action horror story about a group of freedom fighters wage battle against a bunch of deadly humanoid creatures called "Tapemen" (due to their rough, duct tape-like skin) who live for the sole purpose of exterminating the race named Geo-jin, all the while developing both mentally and emotionally beyond what they thought possible.
The recurring themes throughout this story will be on prejudice, racism, self-identity, the effects of war, and studies of the supernatural. My biggest inspiration for this story would have to be the Dragon Ball series along Akira, Kinnikuman, and various other shows/movies/comics I've read/watched growing up. There's the basic plot summary: Once upon a time the humans and Geo-jin had lived together in peace but that all changed when a weird species called Tapeman suddenly attacked as the Geo-jin were blamed almost instantly for the attack thus leading to them banished from Cirta. However, this only left the Geo-jin and their village named "Geo Village" to be at the mercy of those Tapeman but luck is still with them as one Geo-jin named Geo who has the strength to battle the Tapeman, along with a few allies he finds on his way, while keeping to his moral code. So... what do y'all think? Does it spark interest or do you think there's room for improvement? Please share your thoughts... be it positive or negative. |
